Office of the Comptroller General in Pará wins the CGU Excellence Award for project “Égua da merenda, João!”
The Office of the Comptroller General in Pará won the CGU Excellence Award in 2018 in the Innovation category for the collaborative citizen monitoring project, “Égua da merenda, João!“. Carried out in partnership with the Federal University of Pará and the Social Observatory of Belém, the project engaged public school students in monitoring the National School Nutrition Program (PNAE) using Promise Tracker.
The CGU Excellence Award has been held since 2018 and aims to recognize outstanding civil servants, employees and work at the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU). The criteria for participation are are published each year as part of the award announcement. In 2018, there were 4 award categories: Outstanding Public Agent, Outstanding Commissioner, Innovation, and Outstanding Project. Everyone who won the award received an honorable mention from the CGU.
The Innovation category recognized innovative projects implemented as of 2017, that were part of activities developed at CGU. The CGU-Regional/PA project competed with 4 other initiatives in the area of ombudsman activities: the Profoco Ombudsman Group on WhatsApp (public servants from all areas and agencies), Active Ombudsman pre-FEF, Ombudsman Certification, and e-Ouv Municipalities.
