Participatory Design Workshop: Promise Tracker 2.0
As part of our recent trip to Belém to share the work of our partners throughout Phase II of the project, we held a design workshop we with over 30 university and high school students from Belém and Santarém that have been using Promise Tracker in order to learn from their experiences, gather feedback on the tools, and imagine how the platform and monitoring process could be improved. In small groups, students representing different schools and roles in the process shared their experiences collecting data, mobilizing fellow students and advocating for improvements. Participants discussed some of the key challenges faced — both technical and social — and offered best practices to peers on how to overcome them. As a final activity, student mocked up designs and suggestions for new functionalities and strategies to improve the citizen monitoring process.
